PROGRAMMING
Our school programming is packed with semester long curriculum of what it takes to be a designer in the automotive industry, From project conception, creative storytelling for massive impact, to actual automotive application studies and practices – consider this a crash course of this field and an exciting opportunity to influence career path choices prior to college.
02 COLOR AND
MATERIAL
WORKSHOPS
Our Color and Material workshop can work in parallel to traditional school program offering, but this takes CMF application one step further with physical samples, and projects students will be able to engage with hands on, present, and gain a clearer understanding of the Color and Material Design world for automotive. Select this as a stand alone offer or complimentary package to your unique school programming.
03 PUBLIC SPEAKING
ENGAGEMENTS
Exposure is key for any industry. We have been invited to speak on some of the largest platform for CMF design in the automotive industry, and we’re just getting started. About Flight Risk Creative Studio
SARAH WASTON, FOUNDER

Since starting educational rounds in 2017, exposing Detroit middle school and high school youth to the world of Color and Material Design in the automotive industry, Sarah Waston has been the go-to for various design needs and industry based education outreach and initiatives. With over a decade in CMF Design and Creative Direction experience, Sarah has lead charge for some of the most popular global nameplates such as the Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee, Dodge Challenger and Charger, Lincoln Nautilus and Ford/Lincoln advanced projects including EV’s, Mustang and more…
Sarah is a trailblazer boasting a global client base and various industry awards. She is also one of only two African American women within the BIG3 in the Color and Material Design role.
Sarah has set the standard for design studios and supply bases alike and finds it her personal mission to bring more African American women and men to this industry to stand with some of the highest caliber of creatives, engineers, and manufacturers.
She aims to show how your inherent creative vision and design thinking skills can translate to a lucrative career in CMF design, with a focus in the automotive industry. With full transparency, students, audience guests, and workshop attendees will walk away with a clear insight on what it takes to be a successful Color and Materials Designer and overall visionary. Something this industry, in particular, will always need.
